DIL is happy to report that our elementary school children now have the dedicated resources, space and time  to develop the love for reading, courtesy of the DIL Libraries and Reading Program. Over the course of 2013, the Program focused on activities in three area – librarian staffing, training and introduction of reading diagnostic tools. With the help of donors like you, DIL was able to develop a Reading Manual and Guide, hire 34 librarians and train them in library management, as well as improve infrasturcture and add books at existing libraries. Our team  also piloted a fluency tool and is now on its way to establishing reading benchmarks for our 2nd to 5th graders. We are looking forward to an exciting new year ahead in 2014.
